Ghettoforce has agreed that since we haven't yet employed the services of the illustrious Quilp and Bain, we should stay for a couple of more days and hit 4 more dungeons.  That will bring our total to eight, if successful, and Pwnies' dungeon prowess to 29 out of 50.

We've got three dungeons behind us with this visit, with the fourth check-in occurring even as I type this.  In all likelihood, we won't get to the top powerhouses on the roster, its been going so well.

Been awhile since I had a chance to post on this blog.  

Lots of familiar faces around here .. and a batch of new ones too.  The Severed Tongue members are looking forward to helping you kick a few dungeons .. and to seeing My Li'l Pwnies back in the Top of the Hall of Fame.  We'll be cheering you on all the way!

A LOT of changes have happened since our last post.  We've sent folks to Izzone, Severed Tongue and have recruited a whole swack of new people.

I was reading through the official Shakes and Fidget forums today when I came upon this post from Charista, which I recommend you read.  I'll put up a permanent link to it in our sidebar.

Skip the preamble.  It's full of self-congratulations, totally unnecessary on work of this calibre.  The rest of it is pretty good.

It's been almost a month since my last post .. time sure flies fast in the summer.  Hope that wherever you are, you're getting a healthy dose of sunshine, beach and outdoor activity.

Some of us went to hang out with the scum at Severed Tongue to give them a boost with dungeon bonuses.  We took down three dungeons and caught Zombunny without their fuzzy slippers.   Severed Tongue wi'll be returning the favor for us once Zimmi returns.  She's off taking care of some real life stuff right now.

We've had a ton of Pwnies hit milestones, so I'll list them ... but I'd like to note that it's still important to get in here and click in for dungeons.  We recently lost one because six high levels didn't click in on the same day.  I hope we don't get a repeat of that anytime soon .. makes it hard to win.

You know absenteeism has got to be epidemic when even opponents are asking us to log in for fights because they want to come up against the worthy foe they know we can be.  Come on folks!

Check your gear?  Is it outdated?  I was watching individual fights the other night ... something I admit I too often pass on ... and noted that some people were getting beaten handily by opponents they should have creamed.   So I checked a few folks.  For the most part, their stats seemed in order.  When I started checking the gear, I found some pretty outdated pieces. So I'm just going to put this out there .. don't hold onto the epic tri-stat or all-stat gear when its outdated.

How do you know that?  When your new tri-stat pieces are 5 levels above the old ones, start looking to replace the older ones.  If they are 10 levels below newer pieces, you might need to weigh options, but if it were me, I'd replace it with a single-stat piece.

No more than one 'luck' piece - you're sacrificing too many of your normal stats.

If your gear is outdated, spend a few mushrooms to flip through the shops.  You'll soon find yourself winning those fights you should and possibly winning where you are hopelessly outgunned.  For an example of winning beyond your levels, check my Hall of Fame listing (#15 currently) and look at the levels of people around me.  Same for Dolgan Elfbane (#25 currently).  I'd love to see some more Pwnies in the top ranks, so have at it .. have fun and create some new friends along the way!

A few of us dropped by the Izzone clubhouse this week - we pumped a bit of iron, jacked ourselves up an Gatorade and headed into the dungeons full of steam and a bit high on too many eletrolytes. Two dungeon bosses fell to us before we sobered up.  The good news is that Izzone now has bonuses of 140% and a much fuller cashbox thanks to everyone being so giddy and lightheaded.

It was nice to see and chat with all the Pwnies who'd gone over to Izzone.  Rubberduck says hello to everyone!

I have no idea how the hell April 1st snuck up on me.  But there it was this morning on my desktop calendar like a dark and dirty monster from under the bed.  I actually checked my online calendar before I'd believe it.  Here I was blithely going along, thinking it was the 30th and I had one more day before having to knuckle down and get my new Pwnies  theme together.   Somehow, a couple of dates have passed me by .. but that's okay .. it just means my life is pretty darned stress free.

I've got a whole batch of people to shine the batlight on.  This month's cocktail parties will be hosted by Zimmi since Dolgan is a man of many beers .. and not too much city polish.  Dwarves just don't understand napkins when a sleeve works just fine to wipe the beer foam off a 'stache.  So yea .. Zizi has the Manhattans and  chocolatini blenders ready to go .. so we'll just get her to get those in action while I list off our super pwnies ..

The signs of Spring abound all around my house.  First, there's the rain.  But then, this is a rain forest climate, so we get that all winter.  I saw a robin alight on my pergola the other day.  The flowers outside my door are blooming.  I have no idea what they are, but they smell wonderful .. little wee flowers that smell as big as lily of the valley.  And the Pieris are about to go nuts as well.  It's a happy day as I look around my garden.

Well fought my friends and a long time coming I must say.

Bio and Gossip of r34lg33k !!

This is a mini bio of our very own r34lg33k!! He is trekkin' in Japan and has offered up just a small taste of gossip on himself.

He is the self-proclaimed g33kiest of the minions amongst us. Pale skinned and living in Okinawa he says he has more in common with the smeagol Gollum in referring to his mushrooms as 'the precious'. (I think the S&F devs force us to that mind frame)

Surprisingly, 'It' appears to have recently found love and considers getting married. One can only wonder if this is true or simply occurring in a Tron-like world he calls its mind. I know this however, that picture above of him with all the beauties is not a Tron-like image. Eat your hearts out Lil Pwnie guys!!

He spends clearly waAaay too much time on its computer and does share a love of S&F with Mag, his ole pal from Izzone.

It first met the feathered creature called E.T. ( an initially ferocious Lil Pwnie) in the arena some 6+months ago when both beasts happened to befriend each other. And the rest is history in the making!!

First guild dungeon with the new Pwnies is coming up today ... so hit that icon, potion up and get ready to git 'er done!  After we buff up our guild stats, we'll start hitting the guild wars and climbing the Hall of Fame ladder.   Ghettoforce and Jaraxel .. serving you notice now!  But don't worry .. we'll bring cookies or something, k?

I've been handing out sunglasses like crazy for our new stars, but I think Eagle Talon's been ordering his shades form the back of comic books .. he has a decidedly funny outlook ... see the posts below for proof!  At any rate ... we have some folks who need to take a turn on the catwalk today so we can applaud their shiny awesomeness!

• A whole batch of new names to get used to seeing in our roster!  Welcome to SamanthaII, Ellah, Emanon, Alyxyn, Dorkk, Morhdd, Aleksathe5th, murth, and Ranson.  There are a few more mulling over the change, so hopefully we'll see them by the time I write the next Pwny Express.

Revisiting Starbucks!!!

After reading about 'Smee's Great Battle' in my Bird's Eye View column, one of our newest members, Aleksathe5th (or SmartAlek as da Eagle calls him or A5 as Iola calls him), decided to go hang out at Starbucks with some of his mates to see the aftermath of Lil Pwnies most famous battle and have a White Chocolate Mocha in the process. He put on his new Lil Pwnies insignia and they headed out. It was obvious as they arrived that Starbucks had tried to remodel after the raid only to make a greater mess of it.

Once Alek parked his lil blue tiger they sauntered up to the front door only to find it locked tight! Peering through the window all he could see were huge fear-filled eyes peering back at him. Magnumpower, who was one of the hanger-outers with him yelled out, "Are you open?"

The only response he heard was many loud whimpers inside. One cashier in particular who was hiding under a table kept mumbling ovah and ovah, "No, No!! Please!! Not again!" Which was followed by more whimpering. The reaction is probably understandable since Magnumpower was the one doing the peering in about then and that would definately evoke a fearful outcry (Understandable if you have seen his picture in a previous post here). That fact coupled with the previous raid had to cause great panic within. Needless to say they got no coffee that day!

Alek is an unusual breed of bird as you see in the picture below. He is proud as a peacock of his heritage judging from his tail feathers and I would suggest strongly that if you ever get to feeling antsy while around him then don't get close to that bird!! Cause that just makes him hungry.

Ole r34lg33k stood too close to Alek and being the chameleon that he is began immediately blending into a peacock tail feather shade. Aftah he stepped away from Alek, I swear even his skin looked confused.

I am guessing we have to change our snacks in the Pub now. We have peanuts, boiled eggs and popcorn and now I suppose we must add ants. I tried adding some ants yesterday but they kept crawlin' out of the bowl. *scratching* I think a few escaped into my plumage. I only hope that SmartAlek can find all the loose ants. If you see one...don't step on it. What is one persons ant sting is another persons hors d'oeuvres. ( a little Eagleism)

New guild mates?

Ok, I have been checking around to see if I could get some pictures of our new guild mates.

It turns out that some of them might be related to me 'cause they have feathers!!! Also it is said that we can usually relate to anyone by the 'six separation theory'. Howevah, their lineage must be really 'interesting' cause I have nevah seen birds like this!!

First we have r34lg33k (bettah known as da G33K). He is a bit of a chameleon!! You can hardly see him when you put him among a flock of HOT pink female birdies!! Ask him to see THAT picture.

Then there is magnumpower!!

He looks like his name ....scary!! That is one bird with a bite for sure!!

Last but not least is SamanthaII. A hunter if evah I saw one and I have seen plenty.

S&F bettah watch out 'cause this birddog CAN hunt!! Da Eagle knows from experience.

In da Eagles world everyone has wings and feathers... pink sparkley ones if at all possible!!

Da ninja owl, Iola, and our own Z still won't put on pink sparklies for me. *sniff*

Whew .. back on track

Okay, through much frantic messaging and acting as go-between, I've managed to help Zimmi and Magnumpower move the merger forward again.

Zimmi is not seriously ill folks .. she had a minor abdominal operation a few weeks ago that is taking its sweet time to mend, and causing extra exhaustion while she's also trying to deal with an insecure and micromanaging supervisor at her workplace.  She'll be back shortly ... the same sweet Zizi that we know and adore.

Many new Pwny faces should be showing up today .. I sent out invitations before heading off to bed.  WAIT.  No, no, not like that.  Dirty minds!  Tsk tsk.  Dolgan .. I'm looking at you, dwarf.

To all our new Pwnies .. you are very warmly welcome.  We hope you enjoy your stay here as well as our website and the antics of Eagle Talon.  Who will probably have antics regardless, he's Texan and just can't help himself!

Ack ... train derailed

I've sent an ingame mail to all guild members, but in case you only get a chance to access the website during the day, I'll just say that I'm hastily working with members of Izzone to get everything back chugging along up the track.  Well, I'm more hoping for light rail rapid transit, but right now, I'll settle for a steam powered forward motion.

Things have become derailed due to time differences between Zimmi and her counterpart in Izzone for reasons which have been explained.  We'll get it back under control, hopefully by this evening!

Congratulations on Dungeon 15, Crew!  Well done!  Take yourself a well deserved little break on the holodeck .. I highly recommend the nightclubs of Betelgeuse or the monastic retreats of Rigel.  If sports are more to your liking, try your daring grav-surfing the rings of Neptune.  There will be a small gathering in the Captain's Mess later this evening to celebrate more of our own stars ...

More Uncle Timo

Well, we did mention him, so here's the latest update  ...

This is from The Abominable Charles Christoper webcomic, which is kinda cute and kinda wistful at the same time.  Not sure where they are headed with it, but so far I'm enjoying the story of a pacifistic yeti in a world of bad guys.  The kinda fun thing is the authors allow the storyline to occasionally derail so they can bring us more Uncle Timo ... or personal dating site ads for the main characters.

German Police Pick up Drunken Owl

A wild owl apparently had a wild time in southern Germany.

An owl that had evidently drunk too much Schnapps from two discarded bottles was so inebriated that it got picked up by police. The bird will be released once it has sobered up.

German police said on Tuesday they had discovered a paralytic owl that appeared to have drunk too much Schnapps from two discarded bottles.

"A woman walking her dog alerted the police after seeing the bird sitting by the side of the road oblivious to passing traffic," Frank Otruba, spokesman for the police in the southwestern city of Pforzheim, told SPIEGEL ONLINE.

The Brown Owl didn't appear to be injured and officers quickly concluded that it had had one too many. One of its eyelids was drooping, adding to the general impression of inebriation.

"It wasn't staggering around and we didn't breathalyze it but there were two little bottles of Schapps in the immediate vicinity," said Otruba. "We took it to a local bird expert who has treated alcoholized birds before and she has been giving it lots of water."

The bird will be released once it has sobered up, police said. Eagle Talon, the owl's nephew, has posted bail.
